ANALYSIS OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN METAL PRICES: AN APPLICATION IN BORSA ISTANBUL | Author : Melek ACAR, Fatih GÜZEL, Ramazan AKTAS | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :In this study, it was aimed to determine the effect and relation of metal prices on stock prices. For this purpose, gold, silver, copper and mining companies’ stock values, which are listed in Borsa Istanbul, were chosen as the sample of the study. Data set of the study consists of 140 observations for per month from January 2005-August 2016. For the analysis of the data, causality and co-integrations tests were performed. According to findings; there is a long-term relationship between stock prices and metal prices. In addition, it was found that silver, gold and copper prices are both short and long term Granger causes of the stock prices of Ihlas, Ipek, Koza and Park. As a result, the findings show that investors should take into account not only the prices of these commodities but also other factors while making investment decision for the mining companies’shares. |
| A RESEARCH ON RURAL TOURISM PERCEPTIONS OF SECONDARY VOCATIONAL SCHOOL TOURISM STUDENTS | Author : Murat ÇUHADAR, Ipek ÜNAL | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Tourism, seen as a tool for development today, is also seen as a high potential tourism type to become a tool for the development of rural areas. In this study, it is aimed to determine the perspectives and perceptions of university students, who are studying tourism education at associate degree level, for rural tourism. The survey method was chosen as data collection tool in the study. For this purpose, a questionnaire form was developed for the students by reviewing the domestic and foreign literature on the subject. The main population of this study is the associate degree students who study in the Culinary Arts, Tourism Administration and Tourism Guidance programs within vocational schools of Süleyman Demirel University in 2014-2015 academic year. Sample size of the study is determined as 382 individuals with a margin of error of ± 5%, in the % 95 confidence interval. The necessary explanations were explained to the participants and they were asked to fill in the questionnaires. Analysis of the data obtained from the questionnaire forms was performed with the help of statistical package program. For this purpose, firstly the data was transferred to the computer, database was created and then analyzed for the purpose of study. Analysis of the obtained data was performed by frequency analysis, Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskall Wallis tests. |

In this context, the hypotheses were tested with a sample of 285 employees from education sector (public). The results demonstrated that organizational justice and it’s dimensions were negatively related to both cynicism and it’s dimensions. In addition, the results indicated that person organization fit did not have a mediating role between organizational justice and cynicism. |

Essipecially our schools has to take rapid as well as solid steps toward the adaptaion of the Syrian and other foreign students to the education system. The most important thing in the adaptaion of these students is the communications of them in the schools and the orientation of them to the Turkish education system. In this study, firstly the legal dependings behind the responsibilities of the school administrations is mentioned, then the detections and recomendations towards the foreign students’ communication in school and adaptation of them are discussed through taking consideration the specialities of the Syrian and other foreign students. |

Transformational Leadership and Innovative Behavior is foreseen as concepts that will create an added value and that will enable them to become stronger in competition. While looking at whether the Transformational Leadership is influencing Innovative Behavior in the health sector, identifying the mediating role of organizational citizenship behavior by employees in the health sector will determine the role of transformational leadership in innovative behavior and its mediating role in organizational citizenship behavior. There are very few studies related to Transformational Leadership and Innovative Behavior which show whether there are significant relationships between these variables and the sub-dimensions of them. There are no studies related to organizational citizenship behaviors related to these two concepts. In the work to be done by relating these concepts, the leadership style to be adopted in the management of health institutions and the evaluation of the outputs of this leadership will be beneficial. Survey was used as data collection tool in the research. In this context, questionnaires were administered face to face with participants consisting of doctors, pharmacists, nurses, midwives and health officers As a result, sub-dimensions of the Transformational Leadership which are individual support, idealized effect, intellectual stimulation, inspirational motivation and innovative behavior were found to be meaningful related between , and all sub-dimensions of organizational citizenship behaviors were mediated in this analysis. |

Event study is applied when examining the effects of expected or unexpected developments on stock prices. Some of these effects are such as net profit, dividend distribution, corporate mergers and acquisitions announcements, etc. or unexpected events such as natural disasters, military coups. The impact on the BIST 30 and 100 indexes of the July 15 coup attempt, which includes the period between July 01 and 31 July 2016, was analyzed by the event study methodology. As a result of the study, it is thought that the BIST100 and BIST 30 indexes are positioned by some investors before the coup attempt, with the expectation of a positive welcome in the international arena. |
